They’re endlessly scrollable, and the best thing about them is that they work cross-platform – that means they now pop up in Facebook feeds and search engine results. You can also put as many separate videos into a single short as you want, as long as it doesn’t go over the 60 second total. Just like long-format videos, users can subscribe, like, or dislike this content. Shorts can also now be viewed on all devices, including TV, making them very wide-reaching and accessible. 

New ways to earn 

Because YouTube is owned by Google and is the second largest search engine in the world, it’s no surprise that there are more and more ways to get a return on your video marketing. Not only do your videos also feature on Google results pages, but the YouTube Partner Program has also expanded. This means revenue sharing on ads, even for shorts, and lower eligibility thresholds (you only need 1000 subscribers, 4,000 valid watching hours, and 10m valid public shorts views) for earnings.
